SOUND COLLAGES
IMPROVISATION. VOICE & RYTHM

Groupe

Time: 2 h

Singing is an expression of the self that we develop from an early age, offering beneficial effects—even scientifically proven ones—across psychological, emotional, spiritual, and physical realms, thereby promoting holistic health.

Singing is for everyone; we all know how to sing.

Long before we even begin to sing—as early as the sixth week of life—our rhythm becomes evident when our heart begins to beat.

Beyond the heart, every system in our body has its own rhythm, working in unison to operate the marvelous machine that is our body.

Rhythm is what keeps us alive.

I am convinced that by connecting with our hearts, tuning in to others and the Whole, and synchronizing our rhythms, we can achieve harmonious collective functioning—much like an orchestra.

That is what this gathering is all about.

Through individual and group exercises, we will create a joyful, friendly atmosphere where we can play, listen, sing, and feel our rhythms and voices. In collective synergy, we will create our own orchestra—a unified whole expressed through true sound collages.

What?

Vocal improvisations based on the "CircleSongs" technique—a form of group improvisation rooted in ancestral song circles, developed by the renowned singer and composer Bobby McFerrin.

Without the need for or constraints of any specific language, we will work on rhythm and repeating vocal modules (loops) to create original songs in a circle formation.

Why?

• To develop active listening skills
